Masai Mara Safari Park

The Masai Mara National Reserve is probably Kenya’s finest game reserve and offers breathtaking views. Much of the film “Out Of Africa” was filmed here and it boasts an extraordinary density of animals including “the Big Five” ie lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos and rhinos and lots of other animals too.

Wildebeests, zebras and gazelles migrate annually from the plains of the Serengeti that cross the Tanzanian border and rivers to reach the Mara’s grasslands from late June, folllowed by the predators (lion, leopard, cheetah, and hyena) and circled by vultures as their journey unfolds. Tourists visiting in July/August often witness this dramatic river crossing. Even apart from the seasonal migration, gameviewing is excellent year round.

The Masai Mara is also home to the Masai, a nomadic tribe in Kenya whose lives center around herding cattle.
All in all, a great place to visit…
